Description
Matchbox Lesney Superfast 17 f3 The Londoner Bus Repro I style Box.
This third issue of the box has the word New above the model name and number 17 and features the Berger Paints signage our ref mb75h17f3.
An interesting point with the signage is that the artist apparently confused the left / right or front / back of the model and has drawn the Berger Paints brush and stripes facing the reverse direction! The brush is at the rear end of the signs on the model.
The first issue of the box has the word New above the model name and number 17 our ref mb75h17f1.
The second issue of this box has just the name and number shown on the front faces, our ref mb75h17f2.
The first and second issues feature 'Swinging London' signage on the bus, which was the first livery. Another 45 known liveries exist.
Suits the earlier issues (c1972) of the model with the solid door left hand side centre, when compared to the later (c1982) with double doors on the left side. At least 45 liveries for this version as well.
Also issued as 51h (1984) and 28k (1990) with larger windows in the same 3" casting body.
